Brisbane Dive Sites :
Manta Bommie

Manta Bommie – a rocky reef off North Stradbroke Island – attracts marine life like a magnet,
especially over the warmer months – with manta rays, the main attraction.

Situated off North Stradbroke Island, Manta Bommie is a collection of rocky outcrops surrounded by a rugged rocky reef in depths from 3m to 15m. This rocky reef is riddled with ledges and home to a wide variety of invertebrate species, such as octopus, crayfish, nudibranchs, shrimps, cowries and crabs. But most of these marine creatures are overlooked by visiting divers that are looking to encounter manta rays.

Manta Bommie is located just north of Point Lookout, North Stradbroke Island within Moreton Bay Marine Park. It is iregularly ranked as one of the top 5 dive sites in Australia. Also referred to as ‘the group’, Manta Bommie is a Manta Ray cleaning station. Every year in summer between November and May, the Manta Rays pass through in numbers.
